Balanced Living Mindset Introduction

The balance living mindset, whether we realize it or not, is something we all struggle with. It’s becoming an increasingly common problem as people seek more from life. Life no longer revolves around work but finding meaningful experiences throughout life. And this is where balanced living mindsets can help us all.

It’s amazing how much the world has changed, even just over the last 10 years of my life. It used to be all about work, work, work. However, we’ve undergone a drastic shift away from this mentality. Now, the focus of many individuals is transitioning towards the discovery of meaningful experiences throughout their lives. Hard to believe that there was a time we seemingly weren’t even concerned about finding meaning in our lives, isn’t it?

Since the beginning of this transition, we’ve seen many examples of mindfulness and meaningfulness taking center stage in people’s lives. We see workplaces hosting meditation during lunch breaks, providing exercise facilities, offering continual learning opportunities, etc. If you look around and assess your life for even a few seconds, I’m sure you can point out a few examples yourself.

However, many of us still struggle greatly to live what we would subjectively define as meaningful lives. Why is that? With such a large amount of emphasis nowadays on pursuing careers that interest you over simply earning a living, why can we not achieve this goal? It’s something I myself struggled for a long time with. Thankfully, I was able to uncover a solution that worked for me, the balanced living mindset. The positive takeaway for you here is that this solution can work for anybody, just let me guide you through it.

The Balanced Living Mindset

Since this is just my post to introduce you to the balanced living mindset, I’ll keep this light.

Basically, the balance living mindset is what allows us to focus in on those experiences we each find meaningful. Because it is what enables us to focus in on meaningful experiences, it is one of the best facilitators of our success and happiness. In my opinion, learning how to apply a balanced living mindset daily is one of the best ways to achieve our own happiness and success.

The balanced living mindset allows us to incorporate and combine different aspects of living to create the ideal life for ourselves. Since we are all different, with unique skills and interests, each of us will need to combine the different domains of living in different ways to achieve our ideal life. Which makes sense right? Obviously, the ideal lifestyle for an individual who wants to travel the world will differ from someone who wants to develop their own business empire.

Regardless of exactly what you want to be or what you want to do/achieve in your life, you will have a balanced living mindset that will facilitate your successful attainment of these goals.

Most Common Balanced Living Mindset Misconception

The most common misconception regarding this mindset is one I bet a few of you also have. That’s why I want to clear it up right away. This is the idea that the balanced living mindset involves incorporating the different aspects and domains of living in equal amounts. That’s absolutely not the case and doing that would be counterproductive.

Recall earlier that I said we are all unique and have slightly different balanced living mindsets that will facilitate our success and happiness. This means that we can’t all seek the same type of balance, because our interests and goals inevitably differ. Thus, certain domains of living will be more important to us than others. If you care about your social life, you’ll prioritize the social domain. If you care about your physical health you may prioritize the physical domain. And so on and so forth.

You see, based on our priorities, goals, and interests, we will each combine the domains of living differently. This is what I like to refer to as personalized balanced living. Your happiness and success will be facilitated by your personalized balanced living mindset. This is why what worked exceptionally well for someone else, may not work at all for you.

Additionally, even if you tried to incorporate all the different domains of living equally, you’d be unsuccessful. There’s just not enough time to sufficiently address each domain equally. Not to mention, doing this would mean dedicating your valuable time and efforts to areas of living that aren’t as essential to your success and happiness.

So don’t get confused by the term “balanced living”. This mindset doesn’t include everything in equal portions. It seeks to establish a personalized balance that enables you to achieve the things that you want to achieve.

Balanced Living Mindset Benefits

Let me just say that this list of benefits is far from exhaustive. There’s really no telling what kind of positive impacts you’ll see in your life as a result of adopting this mindset. However, there certainly are a few common ones and I’ll outline at least of few of them here. Hopefully, that will convince you to give this mindset a try and kick your rear in gear!

Added Direction

First of all, taking the time to think about your balanced living mindset will help you to give yourself and your life added direction. It will help you to outline your priorities, think about what important steps you need to take to get there, then stay on track. This will lead to a significant increase in your productivity, which will benefit your life overall. This was one of the immediate benefits I discovered when I first implemented this mindset. After all, a goal without a solid plan behind it is rarely more than a wish.

Increased Happiness

Another benefit you’ll likely inevitably see as a result of this mindset is an increase in your happiness. When you figure out what it is you enjoy and what you want in life, it becomes so much easier to focus in on them. I’ve said that a few times in this post so I hope I’m hammering this point through your thick skull.

Peace of Mind

Finally, the last benefit I’ll hit on is peace of mind. This might be an unexpected one, but it definitely is an important one, at least it is for me. What I mean by peace of mind here is that our balanced living mindset will help us identify what areas of life we should be heavily concerned about. You see, in our modern world, with all the information overload we’re exposed to every day, we can only focus in on so much. In other words, the balanced living mindset helps you to pick your battles wisely. To me, that’s an incredibly important skill. I see a lack of this skill commonly in the self-proclaimed keyboard warriors of the internet. They pick every battle with everyone and never truly make any progress. This is something you can easily avoid with the balanced living mindset as it will help you identify what’s worth fighting for in your life.

Wrapping Up

So, in conclusion, the balanced living mindset is something that you can use to significantly improve your life. It’ll help you focus in on your priorities and productively pursue them. These types of actions, when done effectively, will help guide you to your success and happiness.

Don’t underestimate the power and influence that this mindset can have on your life. If you give it a try, you won’t regret it. At the very least it will help you to learn something about yourself. That type of knowledge today is of vital importance.
